“Al - Ziara” means “The Visit” in Arabic;
A women’s afternoon of Middle Eastern music, Belly Dance & sweet treats, in the Blue Mountains Australia
Drop in for a women’s gathering and celebrate Belly Dance and Womanhood
“Al - Ziara” is open to women from the community who are interested in Belly Dance and dancers from all schools together with their Mothers, Grandmothers, daughters, sisters, cousins, nieces, aunties and girlfriends.

Includes: A short intro class . open dance circle . performances . remembering the Feminine . Middle Eastern afternoon tea
Joining us this time is special guest Michelle Svenger on Arabic Drums!
Michelle originally learnt and performed darabuka with Jamal Zraika in Sydney and became a founding member of Al Janoub Arabic purcussion band. She has also performed regularly with various other bands including the Smoking Gitanes and various other bands and also performed with traditional arabic bands in Cairo and Marakesh.
